I went on a business trip (partly business) to Tucson, Arizona a few years 

would sweat through my shirt every single day, and yet I would see other 
people, including my co-workers, perfectly dry.  Apparently, it's just 
another one of those things that people adjust to.  I think I'm more 
cold-adjusted.

few years go.

I've done the barefoot thing in the snow.  I grew up in Minnesota, where 
it gets damned cold (or used to when I was growing up) and the snow was 
usually a couple of feet deep through the winter - the only exception was 
the pile that was made by the snowblower from clearing the driveway - 
that tended to be taller than I was.

I think it's a combination of relative temperatures and when you're 
younger, your heart beats faster, keeping your core temperature up easier.

But that's just a guess; I didn't take biology in high school or college.

LOL

I remember going to school in Florida; the humidity there was insanely 
high most of the time.  The only place I've been where there was more 
humidity was Cancun (I spent about 15 minutes there on a trip to Mexico 
City - we missed our connection in Chicago and ended up on a chartered 
flight that had a stop in Cancun before going to Mexico City).  We got 
off the plane, turned in our customs forms, and got back on the plane.

And in the span of that time, I think everyone's clothes got soaked 
enough that you'd think we'd been standing in the rain.  But the sky was 
clear. :-)

According to the weather applet on my desktop now, it's 43F here in Salt 
Lake.  Didn't need a jacket when I went outside this evening to go to the 
gym.

According to mine it's 34F (1°C) here at the moment and everyone is  
grateful the temperature's gone up, lowest point was apparently about 18F  
(-8°C) nearby.

Now that's getting into cold-ish territory.  Though I remember wind 
chills approaching -70 F while I was growing up.  Of course, I lived in 
the only school district in the state that held classes when the temps 
got that low.

Stepped out the house just and my neighbour had popped out for a smoke, we  
both looked at the drizzling rain and he asked "Do you know when we're  
supposed to be having snow?"
"I thought it was supposed to be before the rain, or possibly instead of.  
If it falls now it's not going to stick"
"I asked [wife] why the kids were at home and she said the school was  
closed due to the blizzard later"

We both looked up at the tupperware sky throwing rain at us.

"Yeah, right" we both said; 5C now.

My daughter and I were outside kicking around her soccer ball yesterday.  It 
was about 45 degrees and sunny at the time.  Neither of us needed jackets. 
If it was July, we'd have frozen to death.  It's so strange...

We're currently getting some warm weather, and the snow is quickly 
disappearing.  I wish it would hold for awhile, but spring is still 2 months 
away.

Can't wait for it to get here, that's for sure.  I was standing in our 
office building to day (a rare day for me - I was actually not working 
from home) and it just suddenly dumped all over us - rain, snow, sleet, 
hail - not really sure what it was.  But there was a LOT of it.

The two guys I was talking to said "wow, that's cool", and I pointed out 
I had to drive 45 miles in it.  They thought it was slightly less cool.

In fairness, it was a pretty impressive bit of precip.
