u and v are the names of the coordinates used to map a 2D texture on the surface
of a 3D object.

I suppose you've made sure that you moved both the .udo and the
corresponding .inc into you moray for windows/udo directory?

Have you created a light source?

Is the light source outside the object?

If yes to all the above, then I pass.

Bye for now,
     Jamie.

Thanks for the suggestions, but yes, I've tried them all already. In fact,
I checked the message window in POV-Ray, and it says it can't find one of
the .inc files. But I've checked and everything is where it's supposed to
be (\udo). Go figure?!?

I downloaded Mega' (is that different than Mega' with UV support?) and it
made no difference. The POV message windows says it can't find one of the
.inc files, but it's in the \udo directory with the .udo. Any other
suggestions? It's killing me because I can see my model in the scene (which
renders btw when I delete the UDO object) but can't get it to render. I
used SolidWorks to build the model then exported a .wrl, took that into
Crossroads, exported a .3ds (also tried .dxf and .raw) and then used 3DWin
to create the .udo/.inc's. Whew! No wonder I'm tired. Thanks for all of
your help.

Hi,

i asume that your converted files renders well if go with provray
directly. V4.2 will include a version statement to enable mesh2
features in the current MegaPov version.

If you want to use your 3DWin output with Moray you have to do some
things:

enable udo/mdl output during POV-Ray export.

copy *_p.inc, *_m.inc and *_o.inc to Moray\PovScen
copy all images to Moray\PovScen
copy *.mdl to Moray\mdl
copy *.udo to Moray\udo

start Moray and load your mdl file.
Press F9 to render.

Thanks for the suggestions. Now I can get it to render, but it will only use the
default material. Is this the function of the *_m.inc file? I tried exporting
again and unchecking materials in the options dialog. This still renders, but
doesn't display the imported object--as if it has an invisible texture (i.e. no
"missing material" message). So near and yet so far. BTW, how close on the
Moray plug-in (he asked wearily)? Also, being that 3D-Win will be shareware, how
much will it cost (US$).

Thanks again.
