Like those women I see wearing high heels at the laundromat.  Her bones must be
molded into that position so that she can no longer walk with her feet in a
natural state.

Does she wear high heels while exercising or playing sports?

Gee, how does she function when she's not wearing shoes at all?  Or does she
wear high heels at the beach, the swimming pool, the bathtub...?

Actually I was with my daughter at the hockey rink recently and some 
woman actually walked out onto the ice in glossy red high heels!  That's 
what got me off on the Sarah Palin tangent.  Gloss red heels and hockey 
ice.  You'll get it if you watched her campaign.

Of course the other thing is the Meat Packing district in NY, where the 
NY clubbers go to play and women turn themselves out in the highest of 
heels to navigate the area's most treacherous of cobbles. Quite a sight.

I know I'm different from almost every other man on Earth, but I find nothing
sexy about high heels.  In fact, I find them a major turn off.  The image of a
mom playing soccer in high heels just strikes me as pathological.

Oh come on, every 8-year-old thinks his mom is Marilyn, and having 
Marilyn come out and kick a soccer ball to you?  The thought is at least 
"cute".

There is a sadistic component to strappy high heels that is a turn on 
for some men; it is a turn off for me.  The idea, for instance, of a 
woman walking a mile in foot-biting fashion heels shoes is grotesque to 
me.  It is common in the summer when I am walking home in the early 
morning to see women wandering back from the clubs walking barefoot and 
carrying their stiletto heeled shoes.  It does strike me as something 
between grotesque and absurd.  But the whole Meat Packing scene with the 
crazy tilted cobbles (they must not have buried the bodies deep enough) 
and the elegant slaves-to-fashion tilting over them to get to a cab, 
leaves me more bemused at some of the ironies.

"Every"?

- I never imagined my mom as anyone other than my mom.

- I don't recall that I knew who Marilyn was when I was 8 (1971 - 72).

- I had no idea what a soccer ball was when I was 8.  I was 13 the first time
  I laid eyes on one (1976 - 77).  (By then, it would have been Farrah kicking
  balls, not Marilyn, who was indisposed at the time.  Come to think of it,
  she *was* kicking balls on _Charlie's Angels_.)

- I'm having trouble conjuring up an image of my mom kicking a soccer ball--
  either now or in 1971.

- I have found high heels alienating as long as I remember--at least to age 6.
  Call me different.  High heels had the immediate effect of making a woman
  seem distant and formal to me.

Too heavy vehicles, braking and pulling up on certain defined spots; too 
high velocity; too little maintenance....

At a certain stage, it happens to any cobbled road. There are a lot of those 
country roads in the surroundings where I live. They are hell for bicycling 
too... :-)

The explanation is prety simple:
Over the years of wearing high heels, her Achile tendon and tight muscle have 
shortened. Also, her way of walking have adapted to that unnatural posture. Now, 
when she use more normal shoes, it's like she have "high toes" shoes.

heel stilt shoes. One of them was about 6 feet tall, maybe some more. Guess who 
was wearing the stilt shoes?
Hint, she was looking well above the head of just about everybody in the area... 
and her two friends barely reatched her shoulders.

Funny, well that just goes to show that the behavior is not rationally 
explained.  One might argue that, visually, the tall heels exaggerate 
and enhance the already long legs; one might also note that a petite 
woman could 'absorb' the extra height.  Even further contradictory, the 
taller woman would be getting proportionally, a smaller boost in height, 
the shorter woman a greater boost .

My wife is taller than me and so does not own or wear heels much higher 
than a medium 2 inches.  We just look ridiculous together when she does. 
  She walks along beside me with her arm over my shoulder like one would 
a child.

Interestingly, you breach here the subject of why men - in general - dislike 
to be seen with a taller woman...
