Tim:
Are you using the conserve_energy flag in the finish? That should
reduce the amount of "lightening" of pigments when seen through
a transparent surface.

Well, it was intended in this case. Also, AFAIK conserve_energy
was supposed to take care of reflecting vs refracted rays. But
I'll take another look at the Documentation.

Well, it's definitely very bright. It would probably make a successful
Zazzle poster. Are you going to be starting anymore modeling intensive
V1.0 style pics?

Hm, thanks for mentioning Zazzle. Never
thought of that, though I do want to begin
with using that at some point...
Anyways, "modelling intensive"?! You're making
fun of me! :-)
Nah, you're right. Well, they'll be coming up when
I don't have images in mind which require intensive
modelling. I'm not making "v1.0 Style" on purpose... ;-)
Regards,
Tim

I agree.
Andrew.
(BTW, couldn't resist going and looking to find out the difference for
myself ;-)

Nice image. I like it. (But that, most males do like that particular
shape... 0;-)
Only critisism is that the glow looks a tad weird round her head (ears
particularly). I can see why that happens, and it's rendered perfectly
correctly, it just looks vaguely strange, that's all.
Thanks.
Andrew.

Yeah, you're right. I had fumbled a little with
placing a sphere to get rid of the ears' shadow,
but that didn't look too well (yes, I've used
no_image on the sphere, just wanted the shadow).
So I left it.

Don't you just hate it when that happens? You know why the computer has done
it, but dammed if you can figure out what to do about it... :-)
Happily it is only a small glitch, nothing major. Anyway, happy POVing...
(or maybe it's not-so-happy POVing from the looks of some of the images in
the V1 gallery on your website - which, by the way, I checked out earlier
today for the first time. Some neat stuff...)
Andrew.

Hmm, thanks. Yeah, some images convey that
I had some rough times, but nothing others don't
have (to a certain extent at least). I don't know
who it was, but someone once mentioned to me on
the newsgroups that he liked my images, because
he thought that him and I were stuck in the
same situation, and at some point, that I had
moved on, and left some sad parts behind. At least
that's what I'm remembering of our conversation.
But I'm more to the happy side these days, mostly.

*grins* Well, that's the trick to it, eh? ;-)
I'm happier too these days - mostly. Of course, I'd be happier still if I
could figure out how to create truely original images in POV-Ray...
"You can't teach brilliance"
Andrew.
(PS. I'm also a pathetically un-original musician too. And an uninspiring
writer... in fact, it seems I can't do anything original! Still, why worry?)
(PPS. OK, that's enough of my mental state for now ;-)
(PPPS. Sheesh, I'm gonna start an entire sub-thread at this rate... lmao)
