HI, Here's the latest edition of the phsychiatric ward cell I've been
working on. Any suggestions or comments? I love the criticism
(positive and negative) Enjoy :-)

PS. I would like to render it larger, and will do so and post if
anyone's interested?

he he he, I'd like to know how you know what it looks like in a psychiatric
cell ;-)

Actually, now that I come to think of it, how much ambient light have you
got? The room seems a bit to evenly lit. For instance, if you only have
one light in the corner of a room, the light does fade off quite
substantially (even with the reflected diffuse light). So maybe just tone
down the ambient lighting a bit.

Other than that, I think it's very good.

Kyle,

Each image gets better, but as Lance said there's too much ambient
light washing the detail from the scene. Also the lamp seems to cast a
square of light on the ceiling, or maybe it's just my eyes.

There appears to be a light in the corner of the room behind the bed,
did someone leave the door open? Is that why nobody is in the room? Did
they escape? Are we safe?

The wall texture is nice, maybe you could put an image map on it,
marking the days off. |||| (I forget what we call them.)

Keep up the good work.

	Graham.

Actually, I'm glad you noticed that light in the corner. You were
exactly right in your assumption. There is in fact a door that's behind
the camera. It's not open, it just has a barred window which looks out
to the bright hallway. I forgot to mention that in my post, that may be
why the scene seems so brightly lit.
That light is giving me problems, like you said it looks too square on
the ceiling. There's a spotlight that shines up, and a point light that
shines down so they don't look the same. I need to find a way to fix
that....back the the grindstone I guess. Thanks for the input Graham
and Lance.

I like it. One problem, tho. Would they put a table lamp in a psychiatric
ward cell??? I might... uh... I mean the inmate might use it's power cord
to strangle myself... uh... I mean himself.

;-)

Hi

First of all, nice image!. When Povray's radiosity is your friend.

Ok, here goes!

If this is supposed to be a cell for a *really* psychotic person (I'm
guissing by the cell window having bars), they probably wouldn't have given
them a lamp, as they could hurt themsleves with it, or use it as a weapon.
The same goes for the desk drawer.Possibly a barred off square ceiling or
wall light might be more in fitting with a grotty cell. As for what to do
with the drawer, I'm not sure.

Maybe you could try adding padding to the wall using super elipseoinds and
spheres? Just a thought.

Keep up the great work,

Equiprawn
