As to the access policy, after seven months of posting you are
the first to find a problem with the access policy including the
owners.

Would you find the time to post the violation of the policy the
owners have not and to get their concurrence in that violation?

	Thank you.

Don't take him as authoritative. Take Alan Kong as authoritative, since Ken
was just quoting a post from povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions:

From: Alan Kong <ako### [at] pacbellNO-SPAMnet>
Newsgroups: povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions
Subject: Where can I post my binary or text file?

Xref: news.povray.org povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions:23

That "X-Authenticated-User: teamacct" header means Alan is a member of the
POV-Team. That doesn't necessarily mean he is speaking for the POV-Team
(For example, I've never spoken for the POV-Team and I have no plans to
start doing so anytime soon, particularly not regarding news server matters)
but combined with the fact that it was posted in that newsgroup, it's a
pretty good bet he was.

I'm a comunist (not the sory you read about in the papers), and
I've got a new newsreader. But because those Vcards are so
annoying I'm starting to filter people out if they use them.
This isn't a step that I take lightly but it's got to be done.

I don't have the power to update the phone lines.

I agree about sigs being humerous and informal or interesting.
Many people don't understand mine, and sometimes I'll gat a phone
call from someone asking if I could re-send that email because it
had an error message at the end and my email address.

I do respect your posts and am happy to read them even in
confrontation I learn something ... what higher compliment is
there?

As was said of Mr. Spock, your saving grace is being rude. I am
rude also and without apology. I wish it had not started either
and particularly over the vcard thing. It really is a nice
gimmick if you look at it.

We are now friends, right? Hops that is true. All forgotten and
forgiven is not in question. This is the internet.

I think I am better than most at returning what I get in terms
of insults. But I hope they result in shaking hands as we have
just done.

> I asked (in a too rude manner) you something, but you are not going to

Which is now all forgotten if mutual.

There is no emnity between us. I have been in public debate
since 1980. I can give better than I get but nothing personal.

So shake on it, friend :)

I have no problem at all and no memory of the past.

In my 19 years in public discussion I have had enemies turn to
friends but never a friend turn to an enemy. I have increased in
friends all over the world. I am happy to have you as one of
them. Will you accept me as a friend?

[to readers, this means truce at least]

You asked for the source of server access and posting policy. I provided you
with exactly the information you requested. You may do with that information
as you and you alone see fit. I do not claim authority over you or anyone
else nor do I accept that responsibility in any regard. Please don't shoot
me I am only the messenger.

Now let me add that I have been visiting these newsgroups for a long time now
and this has to be the rudest most profanity ridden thread in the history of
this group. I have read nearly every message ever posted on this server and
I can say that there has been more profanity used in this thread than in all
of the messages ever posted on this server. Almost the entire contents of
this thread are so blatantly off topic and strictly out of line it deserves
the award for the rudest thread of the year award. I am ashamed of how quickly
this turned into a name calling, muscle flexing brawl, and I really wish it
would end here and now.

Shame on all of you for letting it get so out of hand !

I'm now going to go find someone to help so leave me out of this.

	Please do so. Please filter.

It is better to filter for yourself than demand everyone "self
filter" what you do not want to see and then make a public issue
of what you do not want to see in public.

> I don't have the power to update the phone lines.

Now that is an interesting statement.

You realizse that now that it is over and there is a three line
patch to kill vcards it really was much ado over nothing.

And I should care if you filter me?

If I wnated an ego boost, it was all the people making a fuss
and not filtering me.

And that is a responsibility I will not accept.

I am just my arrogant posting self.

I didn't notice that others can identify us this way as I never noticed that
the authentication name is in the header. Interesting...
