A note on the models section of my links page.

If you do visit my links page, like who wouldn't given the chance,
you will see that there are several large sections of links to 3D
models. Ok they are mostly for other packages but for all of the
links I bookmarked I made sure that they were convertable to some
Pov format with either WCVT2POV, CrossRoads3D, or 3DWin.
Also please note that I did not add just any site I ran across because
it would help fill the bookmark file. Each was added with thoughtful
consideration for what it offered and how much it cost. I am happy to
report that 97.798% of all links listed will take you to 100% free,
you won't pay one single metal, paper, or plastic piece of currency
from you home land for them, 3d models. That too was a major factor
in their being considered for induction into my links collection.
Visit several of them time permiting. You would be amazed what is
available for free if you look hard enough and I looked very hard
for you all peoples out there.

Enjoy,

The thing is awesome (okay if I use old lingo?) I love it.
If you see this message I have to point out that you put a url in there
to the Includes section of my Links page and I recently removed every
file from every web space I have and re-uploaded as a whole new scheme.
The correct path is now:

 http://members.aol.com/xyzunknown/linker.htm/#Includes

for the VerseCurse Links Page under sub-heading Link Pages Related to
3D. Not only that I found that the graphics refused to be shown going
direct to the #Include. No big deal I guess, not necessary.

I must say, you have out done yourself with this project. I can only
stand in awe in your shadow.
Dang I hope I'm not the first to have a "bug report" of your wonderful
work, hopefully I will be the last though. Did you ever realize how much
of that could drop out anytime when you prepared the web page? I'll
stick to my humble links upkeep, better yet skip them altogether. Nah,
couldn't do that. I have to add yours in now.

Awesome works for me dude. I grew up 15 min. bicycling time from one
of California's premier beaches. Cool, bitchin, right on, far out, Dude,
and occassionaly righteous are perfectly acceptable slang words where I
come from. Some of the other places I comes from the words don't ya know,
don't ya see, yep, shore nuff, lader on, and beseen ya are also acceptable
slang words.

As it is in life it is for links pages. All things are subject to change.
I handed off my bookmark file about three weeks ago to the person who
is writing and finishing the current site. I have since that time amassed
61 more links to add to the collection and an even dozen of those are strickly
Pov related.

I'm sure that maintaining a data base like that will be problematic but
I will be adding a broken links report mechanism and hopefully my visitors
will take the time to let me know when something is broke.

HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT ! HINT !

Obviously there is no way I can verify each link is working on a regular
basis and if everyone wants it to stay the powerful resource it is they
can take a moment to let me when there is a problem. The site is not for
me as I have the book mark file it all comes from. It is instead my
contribution to the Pov and 3D community that has already has done much
for me. I can't program but I sure can link you up to what you need.

I will get around to fixing all of the links, including yours, but my
main priority right now is to get the site working harmoniously with itself
and I can then work to improve it's structure and accuracy of material
as I go. There will be some nice tutorials hopefully soon if I can get my
proof readers to finish up and send back the materials I need to post to
the tutorials section :)

Cheers,

That is what we all have been waiting for!
It will probably be even more useful when answering to newbie questions then
the VFAQ. Ugly, but *very* useful ;)

From now on, more or less all we need are two keyboard macros:

ALT+V:
"Your question is answered in the VFAQ at this URL:..."

ALT+L:
"You will find a link for that on Linkmeister Ken's links-page at:..."

That should take care of much of the traffic here in p.g and on c.g.r.r ;c)

Actually, if I could just find a scriptable newsreader, then I could set up
my newsreader to go read the newsgroup itself, answering to each post with
the appropriate option from above. Newsreading without human intervention!
How awesome! ;)

Johannes.

I hope it does indeed serve it's intended purpose. As far as your other
wish maybe you could hack into somebody's news bot and have it do the
filtering for you. As soon as it pings one of the two options it sends
out an email to 50 million people just be be sure everybody is properly
notified of the answer to the question. A little over kill perhaps but
fewer people will be repeating the question in the future and the VFAQ
may eventually go to a well deserved resting place in one of the United
Nations buildings as one of the ultimate documents of peaceful coexistence
in our time. An example to all nations that cooperation is a good thing
and we all really can get along if we try.

You might want to periodically run a link checker against your links page.
The one that I use is Xenu's Link Sleuth available at
http://www.snafu.de/~tilman/xenulink.html . It's free and very fast.

An interesting but satisfactory reply.

I came across this link that is basicaly a somewhat slanted but fairly
accurate review of what to expect for the newest release of 3D studio
Max due out in May of 1999. Thought you might be interested in taking
a look anyway and others people here might as well take a look so they
can answer back to you later "so what else is new ?" when you start
boasting about all of the powerfull new options available in that other
program that you alone seem to use.

Check it out at:

LOL, thanks a lot Ken... make me out as the bad guy ;-)

Actually, on the subject of high end stuff and effects etc etc...

I especially like the new work being done with Flow-Mo... Now if that isn't
cool, I really don't know what is... (Anyone that's seen the "dodging
bullets" scene from "The Matrix" will know what I'm talking about
immediately...)

I have neither seen or heard of it.

Hey what is with the austrailian internet right now. I tried to access
the Official Pov-Ray mirror site in Austrailia and was denied access
because I was linking in from the U.S.. Is this something new or am I
just now finding out about it ? I think the denial page mentioned
something about a disagreement as to how much of the kitty who gets for
connection rates but it was surprising none the less.
Since you live over there on the little island could you hope on over
to where that server is and straighten them out on the issue of resticting
access to Pov users ? They should know there are limits to these things.
