In case I forgot to thank some body. I do appreciate all of your comments.
Your kindness and excellent criticisms help motivate me to keep this
project going.

Attached is an image that shows the rigging configurations that are built
into the macro so far. As i progress further on the ships rigging, I
anticipate that there will be many more.

The core of the macro is a heavily modified Link.inc file originally created
by Chris colefax.

I can clean up the code and make it available if anybody is interested.

Thanks,

Tim

Is there a particular reason for having the running lines through the blocks
left-hand laid and the straps on the blocks right-hand laid? Also, I find
it odd that the running rigging is integral with the straps rather than
being seized.

Just nit picking :)

Btw, it looks like you've got the catenary built into the macro - if so,
nice work!

Hmmm... good comments. The 2 errors come from the fact that I am not a real
sailor (I was on a submarine inthe Navy).

1. I can correct how the ropes are laid. Which is correct? Right hand or
left?

2. If I understand correctly, the strap running around each block should
have a loop in it and the running rigging should then go through & then
loop back on its self.

3. THe cantenary is there and is part of the original macro by Chris
Colefax.

Thanks for helping make it accurate.

I'd guess right, although I'm no nautical historian. Something google
came up with:
http://home.att.net/~ShipModelFAQ/ResearchNotes/smf-RN-Shrouds.html
(though maybe not directly applicable to the question at hand)

Sounds right. I took a peak at Ashley's book and it shows rigging a
block something like the attached illustration.
