Love those egg things! Especially the netting on the underside. How was
that done?

Textures are gorgeous, as always.

It's hard to get a sense of scale on those things, thouh. Are they small
enough to land on the station's lading pads (can they land at all? I see no
landing gear) or are they too big? The rear one gives the impression of
being far away, and therefore huge. The near one gives the impression of
being about the same distance from the viewer as the station. Also, what's
keeping them up? They've got lots of rear facing engine, but nothing
downwards (maybe I'm making a wrong inference based upon the tower's
thrusters)

The rear egg needs to be turned. Left, right, up or down, it doesn't
matter, really, but the straight on shot is a little dull.

Other than that, fantastic.

Geoff

I like the ships. They seem to remind me of balloons or Zeppelins.

The one thing this scene is really lacking is an appropriate sense of
scale. Exactly how big is this thing supposed to be and how far away?
If it is supposed to be skyscraper sized, maybe the tip of it should
pass through a cloud layer. Or maybe it could be a bit hazy and you
could put a human sized object in the foreground that is much less hazy,
etc.

P.S. There were two things I really likes in the previous posts: the
rocks in the waterfall and the second "power generator."

The clouds are better; still not 100% realistic IMHO, but they seem to
go well with the overall look of the scene.
The blimps look cool, but as others have said, it's difficult to make
out their size. I assume the near one is supposed to be roughly in line
with the "landing bridge" structure and thus not terribly big; however
at first I thought it was hovering over the far edge of the of the
waterfall, and about 1/3 the size of the platform. Perhaps it would help
if you moved the thing so that it comes partially in front of the
bridge. Not sure what to do with the other blimp, but I guess it's no
big deal anyway.
If I were to nitpick, I'd say the pods make the blimps look top-heavy
and thus rather unstable in any sort of sidewind... BTW, are those pods
just scaled versions of the pods around the platform's base? You aren't
getting lazy on us, are you? ;)

So you have time to do more work in 1 day than I hope to do in the next two
months, but you don't have time to say anything? :)

Any chance of a high-res render? The details are kinda hard to make out,
which I assume is due to resolution rather than an actual lack of detail.

Are those rockets on the side of your blimps? Cool!

My one thought would be maybe you should add some atmosphere to the scene,
to increase the feeling of depth. Though to be honest the only reaon I say
that is I just put some in the image I'm working on and it looked really
good. At present it's the only thing in my image that looks better than
yours :)

Clouds look very good now, but the change of the 'fortress' is not good
IMO. Same for the water, which was best in 'Take 4'.

The additional objects look nice, but they look much too large and give an
unfavourable sense of scale.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of those egg-blimps...but my primary criticism is
the green/blue monotone scheme going on here. I don't know why, but the
image reminds me of a watercolor... Some darker darks and different colors
might help to add some constrast.

I like all but the waterfall still...

I don't mean to pick apart your artisitic style, as I know this is the kind of
pic you turn out time and again (near flawlessly might I add)... the ships add
a kind of technological clutter. With such beautiful surreal sky and endless
expanse of water, and your great idea for the waterfall in the midground
((foreground + background) / 2 == ?), I think maybe it's better suited to
being a landscape. Of course, nothing prevents you from making the ships,
rendering, and simple moving/commenting out a few chunks of code to make
"Version 2".

BTW I have been saving every progression of this to my HD. IMO one of the most
'artistic' pieces I've seen, surpassing Gilles and Mick dare I say. It's very
clear, very smooth and untraditional.
