Good thing I don't have an idea for the fortress round (oh wait I just might
have come up with something, but it's not exactly a fortress perse). And how
did you make the station/fortress thing?

Wooooww!!

I was STUNNED as I saw the picture and I immediately checked who's the
sender. Of course! H.E.Day! But I don't believe you anymore. This can't
be done in 3 days, and certainly not with Moray / Povray. :o) You got
to have some tricks, that I would like you to share with us.

I like every bit of this image. Not fully realistic clouds but VERY nice
anyway. The atmosphere and fantasy in this picture is superb. It doesn't
look like typical POV or raytracing, it looks like a great painting.
Even more realistic than most paintings.

Sorry to give you praise only, but you deserve it. :o) But I think you
should consider a new challange: To teach us!

I second this motion!
Lets call a vote. All in favor of H.E. Day trying to
teach us: say "Yea", those not: say "Nay".

HE Day's been pretty good about sharing code in the past. He might not
share the code for this until the IRTC round is done (I wouldn't), but he
might be willing to share select bits. Of course, then you have to learn
from the works of the master rather than the master himself, but I've had
some success looking at other code that I've found good.

Of course, it'd be nice if everyone formatted the way I like it. Gotta work
on that POV code pretty printer.... ;)

Hmmm... find the "{"s and "}"s and count them, match them to each other
and keep track of indents, same with the "<,>"s and carriage return before
key words like "pigment" or "blob".... easily done I suspect. POV-Formatter
with pretty printer...

    I like it...

Oh, sure, it's easy to do, but I haven't found the time yet. Also, if I
want to make it available to the rest of you guys, I'd have to make it
somewhat configurable, because my style is likely not what some like
(obviously my style is not like the style of whomever did the Windows GUI
front end, anyway. ;) )

What'd be really great is to use the pov parser and just put a different
back end on it. But the pov license doesn't allow it.

For some reason, I'm thinking "fortress".

Three days? That's a long time for you. What have you been grounded for
this time?

Now to the image, OK as Marc said it needs something off to the left, maybe
a craggy rock, and to add a touch of colour a rainbow coming from the spray
of the waterfall. Or maybe it's not a waterfall at all but a vortex, we have
some big vorticies in the North Sea (there may be a map of the largest regular
and naturally occuring vorticies somewhere on the net), and if it's in the
North Sea and this is the Fortress round why not have a Viking warship making
it's way towards the fortress in order to do battel with this alien foe.

Considering the fact that "Fortress" is the current IRTC topic, you are
probably right. ;-)
Sorry, I was just too lazy to select a link from the bookmarks in my

Amazing! I like the banding. It looks like a surreal painting. I'd better
right click the "unfinished" version before it becomes a collector's item!
