Ok, let see ...

In general i like the composition, but one of the vehicles more in foreground
would be good. Maybe consider placing the sunlight lower so the shadows become
a bit longer.

I also wonder about the stripes on the terrain, some large scale turbulence
would be good.

I think they look quite good for snow if it's not too deep. Some traces
implying movement of vehicles would be nice.

Well, if this were my scene (I wish!), I would lose the dome and the two
vehicles in the background, add one more in the foreground to reound out the
convoy, and add some tracks and snow spray from the tires.

The two scene idea is a good one. IMHO, having the dome and convoy in the
same scene confuses the focus.

Very nice scene BTW...

That's what I was thinking, but my snow gets awfully dark. I'd increase ambient but
first I'd have to fix the color problem. (White lighting I guess :-/ )

Yup, like I said it's T_Stone13, I may just make my own.

Also what I was thinking, but sounds like a lot of work, or a lot of work for the
computer with a nice little trace() macro :) Will differencing a bunch of little
tire marks from an RMF cuase a huge slowdown?

Yeah *sniff*
bye domes...

Let's just say this scene is up for experimentation...

Thankies!

I like the dome. It shows curved shapes from rectangular
blocks and I think that is cool. Perhaps you could move it
back and towards the center so it forms an unobtrusive bit
of detail in the background. Sort of like a Giles cartoon...

Or perhaps you could have the convoy leaving the dome
and coming towards the camera (or returning home if you
want to highlight the back end of one of the buggies). You
get the close up and still keep most of the original bits.

Nice work!

That sounds good, but during a lot of the layout I have been molding the scene
to the terrain. The domes are in the alcove, and the convoy is following the
little valley between the ridges. With a little work I can move things around,
but seeing how things fit together I may need to move the camera (a bigger task
than it sounds because I have to check landforms behind the camera to get a
suitable position), or even move to a different part of the RMF again...

Thankies!

Try changing the brilliance, that could help.

I would use a normal (bump map) or an additional image_pattern pigment function
for the terrain isosurface. The normal would not much increase the rendering
time, but the function would.
