I'm uploading the Moray scene file to the moray.binaries group.

Nice :) The 3 legged table must have been a bit of a pain to get the legs to
mesh with the table top correctly - and it's obvious you are using CSG.
However, for vases, you might look at Lathe objects. Nothing wrong with your
vase, but lathes are more flexible.

Only one complaint. That wallpaper! I'd hate to wake up with a hangover in a
room covered in THAT stuff!

Actually, I got so ticked with trying to CSG the legs (to trim them,
somewhat) that I just stuck the top of the leg inside the table top, and
through the floor. :)

Lathe objects?  Muah? :)

Ok, I'll look into it :P

To be honest, ME TOO!!! ;)

Thanks for the compliments! I'll probably raytrace a view of the light
(yes, there IS a ceiling light!) and post it in a few minutes. . .

The wallpaper is a bit loud, and could have done with an area
light or two. The actual pot and table are very nice. The floor
may benefit from being made into tiles, just use a largly scaled
brick normal.

Cheers

Hi
Much better, just a few comments (as usual!) the wallpaper - YAK, try using
one of morays gradient textures, i think there is one called candy-cane, it
could be tweaked a bit to look more like plane paper. you dont want the
background to distract from the scenes center of attention.

as to the method of making a vase, csg is good, lathe is also good, do
whatever you like :)

nice trick with the table legs, if it works use it.

also try using area lights to prevent casting hard shadows.

Very good second image tho!

Actually, a scaled up quilted normal gives a nice +ACI-closely set tiles+ACI- look
as well.

Okay, I'll keep this in mind :)

Now you want me to get into lathe. You are one mean dude :)

I'm getting into bezier patches in my next images. Hope it comes out like I
want it :)

Yes, yes. . .

Ahh, that's true, but if you look at the post ABOVE this one, it shows a
ceiling light from this same image. I don't know how good area lights would
make it look.

A BIT loud? :P

Btw, I tried to do a "carpet" effect with the floor. Also, you may find
this interesting. Here's the floor texture:

#declare Floor_Texture =
   material  // Floor Texture

      texture

         pigment
         {
            brick
               color rgb <0.92787, 0.783657, 0.69713>
               color rgb <0.963527, 0.90519, 0.890606>
            brick_size <2.0, 1.0, 3.33>
            mortar 0.1
            warp
            {
               turbulence <1.0, 1.0, 1.0>

            }
         }
         normal
         {
            wrinkles , 1.0
            scale  0.01
         }
      }
   }

So, as you can tell, the floor IS made of bricks, only with some turbulence
to make a swirly carpet. Then I tried to make it look like the fibers. .
.blah blah blah. . .I'm most proud of the floor and the vase (and the light,
but that's another story) ;)

Thanks for the compliments and criticisms!
