One thing I learned the hard way is that you *NEVER* have finished
learning. Better cope with this and learn what you can. BTW, Linux is
something you can learn pretty good at the Internet and WIN32 emulators
like WINE are also existing! I once read somewhere here that even
WIN-POV runs on it! :-)

I can confirm that from personal experience. My news client and my
mail client also work perfectly well under Wine. ICQ does not run at
all, though :(

So how do you use them? Can Linux access the Windows hard drive to run
programs? Can Windows access the Linux hard drive? Or does the Linux drive
have to be hidden from Windows?

Windows has no idea that Linux is installed on the HDD or it would
have died of jealousy long ago. Linux accesses the windows hard drive
or partition and runs the windows programs. It can also access the
registry but I have switched this option off for safety since none of
the programs I specified relies heavily on read/write from/to the
registry.
WINE is definitely worth checking out!

Maybe that's why it keeps BSOD-ing.
But seriously, folks, I read somewhere about an EXT2FS driver for NT, so someday
soon you may be able to get NT to read and write your Linux partitions.

My Linux drive is the only place I trust for important information. If
micros~1 ever implement EXT support in windoze I will boot to DOS and
manually delete all relevant DDLs!

Yes. And it is also completly technically feasible for Microsoft to do a FAT32
driver for NT. It's been years now, but still no FAT32 for NT 4.x

Well, yeah, but the EXT2FS driver I spoke of is an open source project, not
from micros~1. Besides, if MS put FAT32 support in NT4.x, what reason would
you have left to "upgrade" to Windows2000?
