Don't be jealous.
It is an other point of view if you _have to work_ with it.

If you go to school (pupil or teacher) you can have Rhino very inexpensive.
Or go to the university and enrol.
Then you can have it for 199EUR.

Hmm... of course! I can imagine how Rhino feels then...

Hmmm... (again!) I work for a semi-governmental/semi-private institution,
with connections to the University...
No! Won't do. For the outside world we are just a (big!) company. So I
should come up with a "really" good reason to buy Rhino(geology). Most 3D I
do is for pleasure/leasure!!

I still want to see something that can be done with Rhino+Moray+Pov
and that can't be done with Hamapatch+Moray+Pov...

And for those who work in other things that have nothing to do with 3D, like
me,
price is a very important thing.

Just my opinion (even though I've tried Rhino only a few times)

You'd have to tell me something that "can't" be done with Hamapatch. I
suspect it may well be more a matter of something being extremely difficult
and time comsuming in Hamapatch vs. just a few moments of clicking and
input in Rhino. Hamapatch is certainly a good value for the price, but...

I'm a blue collar man myself, but Rhino isn't that hard to justify if you
love 3D and you've used it enough to realize the power it holds. And once
you do a little searching on the net and find authorized resellers letting
it go for roughly half price, it looks even better. And it's really the
only reason I still have a windows partition on my HD.

Why model something in a third-party package when you can build
it with a little thought and a few dozen CSGs? ;)

...I know, I don't do much modelling of any organic objects.

Interesting question when you're in a group called moray.win !!

Why use POV at all when you download a pirated 3DSMAX off the net and render
scanlines like tens of thousands of l33t teenagers the world over?

Vive La Difference, baby.

Er, I mean third-party to Moray. Hehe.

Because I couldn't figure out how to use 3DS...still have my
pirated copy in its 50-odd rar files. Just in case I decide
to learn how to use it some day. I don't like its faceted
spheres, though. :P

I've been one day thinking about it, and I can't find something that "can't"
be done with Hamapatch. Sorry.

But what?. The models I do are not extremily difficult (actually are very
easy)
nor time comsuming (you can work very quickly with hamapatch).
I fear that you know about Hamapatch more or less what I know about
Rhino...

No worries...

That might tend to explain your level of happiness with Hamapatch. If I was
only interested in making "very easy" models, I'm sure Hamapatch would work
just fine... or even Moray, for that matter.

> I fear that you know about Hamapatch more or less what I know about

Perhaps. Both are sitting here on my HD, and when they're both open at the
same time comparison seems a bit.... unfair. I never meant to give the
impression that I somehow dislike Hamapatch. As software that can be
freely downloaded and used, it rocks. Placed next to a commercial product
such as Rhino, however, it's usefulness dims to obscurity.

SSSSHHHHH!
Don't tell Lutz you willingly posess pirated software. The next thing you
know we'll need to use a dongle for Moray.
