Where is the fun in not remembering? No fun stories to tell!

Though, I do admit to not remembering a hangover after one night of
heavy drinking. That might have more to do with falling asleep on a
friends futon and then having 1 or more of their cats falling asleep on
me. Being allergic to cats, all I remember is waking up and sneezing for
a few hours. How the fuzzy little beasts got the door open, we never did
figure out.

For me, alcohol removes the socially inept part of my brain that tends
to over think everything. I can sit around with strangers in public, and
no longer be worried that the people next to me are thinking I am
strange. They probably are, by that point, but it just no longer bothers
me. Physically, I get a nice warm feeling after a few drinks, and feel a
bit dizzy and slow after a few more.

As for drinking alone, the most I'll take is a spoon of rum in a cup of
tea, or just a spoon of whiskey, when I have a cold.

Maybe I should start drinking.

I agree.

Have to agree with you there. We don't really get "pubs" round here, but
some bars are ok that do pretty decent food. More often though I'll just
stay at home now and drink there with my gf and sometimes other friends too.
Added bonus is that the identical drinks are about 5x cheaper in the
supermarket compared to at the bar.

Hehe, during Oktoberfest I'd had 2 litres of (strong) beer by about 1pm,
then I went home :-) I think the most beer I have drunk recently was 4.5
litres (at Oktoberfest '06), then I really did have to go home and had the
room spinning etc etc. Not very nice... But I think other people had drunk
more as there were plenty just lying about on the grass and generally
looking far worse than I felt.

I find that often it's only once you get home and finally relax that you
realise how drunk you are. While you're out with people and it's noisy and
you're drinking and chatting you really don't notice, well not until it's
too late...

A cat... fell asleep... on YOU?!

Bahahahaha! That's *advanced*!

(Hmm, maybe one of your drunk "friends" let the cat in on purpose?
Weirder things have happened...)

I remember my sister while she was at uni telling me there's no point
not going out drinking, because "all that will happen is that at 2 in
the morning, I'll have Lottie banging on the door saying 'Jenny...
Jenny! I'm pissed! :-D Hehehe'."

(This is the same Lottie who famously said to my sister "aww, Jenny...
Now your whole family will thing I'm *weird*". Gee, what would
*possibly* give us that idea... Much.)

I once tried some home-made Polish vodka that some Polish guy smuggled
into school in a jam jar.

It smelled like paint thinner. But it tasted distinctly of strawberry.
And a few seconds later, I felt inexplicably warm. I mean, like,
*stupidly* warm. As in, I was sweating and I had to start taking clothes
off... Random!

Not that I get drunk (though looking at the date...), but that's a pretty
fair description from my perspective. Just add talking a lot more then
when I'm sober, something Andrew might testify as not a good thing.

One of those odd things no hangovers <shrugs>

Alcohol is a well known vaso-dilatator.

Why would that make you warm?

(If anything, shouldn't that make you *cold* since you loose more heat?)
