Hey there! Long time no see. Looks like things are still bustling around
here :) Just thought I'd stop in to say hello to everyone. I miss the
stimulating conversation of which there is an abundance around here :)
I've been floating around after having moved, but have recently settled into
a 35' trailer. Not a big place, but it's just me anyways. After getting
things secured there, I hope to be getting internet access on my computer
again. The one I'm typing this message on is outdated: slow processor, slow
modem, bad graphics.... it always seems that businesses have older computers
than home-users do....
Turns out my boss will be letting me do some AutoCad work here (hopefully @
home), redrawing architectural plans and the like. Of course that means
learning AutoCad and becoming familiar with building codes.
Well enough of this drawn-out letter :) I hope to be stopping in more often.
I've got a couple renderings to show off, too :)
~SamuelT
P.S. Hello esp. to Bob H., Tony B., Mike H., Chris Huff, and Uncle Ken

It's great to see you back, Sammy. :) I thought you'd fallen off the edge of
the Earth or something. I was talking about you on ICQ with Josh English the
other day. Do you still have the source code for those pine trees you made
with isosurfaces? They were really cool, and Josh wanted to make a forest
with 'em. It really is great to see you back, man. POV on! :) I'll say a
little prayer for you and your job-getting. Do check out p.b.i. and look at
what we've been up to (especially yours truly :)

Well, I did, at least a few times. I'm better now though :)

I'd love to produce the code, but my computer is in storage :( I never did
make a full scene with those tress, btw...
I should be getting the computer out pretty soon here; perhaps I can put the
code on a floppy and upload it then.

Thanks! Now I'm all warm and fuzzy.... and no, it wasn't the coffee this
morning :P

Will do. It's always neat to see what people have done. Too bad I can't view
it in true-color on this computer :( I could always copy them to floppies
though.. hmm...
Talk with you later :)

And hello from/to cyberspace.
Yeah, wow. You were becoming an extinct name around here. A few people kept bringing
it up time
and again though.
Hope you don't toy with ideas of playing POV-Ray on that CAD machine, bosses hate that
I'm sure.
Bite the bullet and wait until you're on your own. Must be he**.
Really nice to know you are still around finally.
Bob

256 colors and 66 mhz makes for some very poor rendering conditions.

Thanks! It's nice to be here. I hope to be contributing more often in the
near future :)

And we missed you! Really, there were quite a few people asking about
SamualT's isosurface tutorial... :-)
Speaking of stimulating conversation, you might want to avoid getting
into a "discussion" with a certain person in povray.off-topic(unless you
feel like being called a lazy, isolationist, unmoral, Pavlovian,
media-fed, childish goldfish, that is...). Reading a few of the messages
there should point out why...the signal-noise ratio in that group is
disappointingly low now, though the offender seems to be getting bored
and will hopefully leave soon.
There have been some interesting isosurface images lately, a new "glow"
patch based on POV-AFX, a lot of interesting experimentation with
radiosity, a couple castles, etc. You should find them interesting once
you get a faster modem and better display...

Hope you get yourself properly situated soon.

I hope so too, it's nice to see you here again. :-)

The sweater you put on? Or maybe a heater vent is blowing on you...can't
explain the "fuzzy" part though, sorry.

Hi there!!

Really? Seems the opposite to me. They get faster ones than they really need.
'Tis a waste of machinery when they could be rendering. <g> Ooh, need 600Mhz to
play solitaire and update spreadsheets all day long!
Our school got a bunch of new PIII's, but they probably make use of them since
we have graphic design classes and such.
