I am new to Povray and ray-tracing in general. Does any front-end
program exists that generate pov files?
Would anyone be kind enough to suggest the best way to learn this
fabulous rendering tool?
Thank you,

Claude LaBadie

In my opinion, the best investment to front-end POV-Ray is MORAY - a
fully featured modeller built for POV-Ray

The best resource I ever saw was Raytracing Creations (Second Edition)
by Chris Young and Drew Wells (Waite Group Press). But, alas, it is
out of print. Finding a copy will not be easy, but there are some
around --- contact a 'book finder' near you.

Good luck

The "front-end" that I use, (when I use one, not very often) is Breeze
Designer 2.0You can get it from POV-Ray's ftp site......
the files that you need are bd205exe.zip and bd205tex.zip
unzip them into the same directory and run the setup prog...

have a nice day...

Version 3.0 of POV for w95 comes with a good front-end.
The best way to learn POV-Ray is to use it! You will need a good
modeler too. There are good shareware and freeware one.
As for commercial ones, I think Rhino it's the best that exports to
POV format.
