Hi everyone

I'm wondering if anyone out there knows what became of a couple of Povray
artists (and hopefully their current website, if they have one).

One is H.E.Day, who has several images in the Hall of Fame and had some awesome
entries in IRTC.

The other is Mike... something. I've unforgivably forgotten his last name,
though I think it might be Miller. He did an awsome Jack-in-the-box image with
POV1 that appeared on the cover of the UK PC Format way back in the early 90's.

These two artists were among my main inspirations for playing with Povray, so
now that I'm getting back into it (after a long absence), I'd really like to see
what these guys have done more recently.

I once crossed his path over at Fark.com (where he was posting under the 
moniker of "Broken Spork fo DOOM" between 2005 and 2008, according to 
Google).  In this 2005 thread, (here: 
http://www.fark.com/comments/1507984 )he said he had moved on to 3DSMax 
and Maya.

According to Linkedin, he now is a senior artist at Zynga.

I think H.E. Day now works as an artist at Zynga 
(http://www.linkedin.com/pub/howard-day/8/303/1a1).  He has an 
out-of-date site here (http://www.hedfiles.net/) with a list of some of 
his CG stuff (http://www.hedfiles.net/wcpioneer/), and a more recently 
updated profile at cghub (http://howardday.cghub.com/).  He also has a 
Google+ page, although there's nothing you can see on it 
(https://plus.google.com/105589227464020473666/posts).

Mike Miller was a povray artist who did the Cycjack image 
(http://news.povray.org/povray.text.scene-files/thread/%3Cweb.4ce528af22d11e3cd2eefd850@news.povray.org%3E/)

as well as a number of other old nice Povray images.  I can't find an 
image of the Cycjack scene, but the thread I linked looks to have the 
scene files you'd need to render it yourself.

Speaking of old Povers, I'm know at least a few people around here 
remember this guy from p.o.t 
(https://plus.google.com/102904128915733925934/posts).

Also speaking of old Povers, anyone know what Mick Hazelgrove is up to 
these days?  His website is up, but hasn't been updated in a while.  On 
a search for his name an obituary from 2010 turns up, but also a Google+ 
page for a person of that name.  I don't know if either refers to the 
Povray artist.

Always one of my favorites.

Seems no one gets as far these days. When I look at p.b.i (not often,
admittedly), most of what I see are quickies and WI(eternal)Ps.

Not 100% sure, but reading through the posts it just feels right.  He 
does mention povray explicitly in this post though:

Maybe an artifact of p.b.i not getting nearly as many submissions as it 
used to.  I feel I still see some pretty good ones on there from time to 
time these days, but with p.b.i now getting as many images per month as 
it used to in just a single day they're just not as frequent.

Also, thanks for the update on Jim, I'm glad to hear he seems to be 
doing well!

Yes, I'd wondered where he got to.  Glad to hear he's still doing well. :)
