Interesting. A few questions: 1) Does it convert to mesh2? 2) Does it do
smoothing? 3) Is the output customizeable? One of the problems I have with
other converters (3DWin in particular) is that I can't get it to output the
mesh without the texture block and references, requiring me to remove it by
hand.
When I get the chance I'll give it a try anyways (now if only someone could
make a MAX to POV converter)

Just curious, but why would mesh smoothing be a task for a format
converter? Shouldn't it be the task of the original modeller which
created the mesh?

Hi Tomas, thanks for this - it works nicely! One problem I did run into
though: after install and trying to run the program I received the error
that "The application has failed to start because stlport.5.1.dll was not
found". I note that the /bin directory contains stlport.5.2.dll, so I
copied it as stlport.5.1.dll and the program functioned fine, however this
might be something to check for the installer.
Cheers,
Lance.

I have added settings dialog: menu: Export->POV-Ray output settings.
"Output textures" check box: gives possibility to disable texture
coordinates
and texture images output.
Also I have added for my self "Use last pov name" check box.
This check box allows
to export 3ds file to the last used POV-Ray file name with one click on
export
button (no save dialog launched). I use this to do testing with many 3ds
files
and having only one pov file opened in the pov-ray.
Regards,
Tomas

A3dsViewer does smoothing only if 3ds file faces have smooth flag on.
I can provide possibility to "force" smoothing or disable smoothing
if somebody need this.

Tomas
