Animation Tool (Message 1 to 9 of 9)

I am working on a POV Animation Util during my spare time (which is after
work, after dinner, after play time with the kids, after they go to bed, and
after time with my wife) the uses existing POV source files and embeds clock
type variables.

After getting frustrated with spending too much time on calculating camera
and object positioning using the POV clock variable, I created (and still
developing) my Animator program. It uses existing POV source files, and
allows the user to place variable names in key spots in the source file.
Then you select the number of frames to create, and away it goes. The
variables are user defined in a tree view style (much like Microsoft Explore
directory listing). The variables can be either a simple counter (1,2,3...
or 1.1, 1.2, 1.3) where the user defines the increment amount, and the
starting and stopping frames. I also plan to add other types of counters
such as a sine function, looping counters, oscilatting (sp?) counters and
whatever else is needed.

Would anyone be interested in testing this software when I get to a beta
release?

I forgot to mention - the Animator Tool will be for Win95 platforms. Sorry,
that's the only programming I know.

I sounds like you are about as frustrated with manually doing camera
coordinates as I am. I posted the note originally on povray.windows a few
days ago, and I would like to share any of my ideas with you if you want.
My program will be an MSDOS graphics utility, probably with some similar
features to yours. and just like you, I have been so pressed for time that
it's taken from last August to now to finally get to it. Well, maybe we'll
end up with 2 good utilities with slightly different features for slightly
different needs. Please feel free to contact me.

Most definatly.. I actually wrote one a while back that I never quite
finished. Basically, it would recursivly call povray, while including a file
that contained camera positions and the such, changing the file between
renders..

Let me, know, sounds great!

OK, you can have a Windows NT beta tester for free :-)

Just let me know when beta testing begins and I will install your
application on my NT Workstation and use it

OK ?
