Just a test scene with some photoshop applied.
Cheers,
Edouard.

Three, in this case, is a perfect number.
Minimalist perfection, in my opinion.
(It would be possible to see the image without postprocessing?)
;-)

Thank-you :-)
Another couple of shots attached (they are really just to test my camera macros,
but julia_fractals are pretty interesting to look at).
They are also using a 16 sample lightdome created in LightMapGen (see
http://www.happiestdays.com/plugins_iblTools.php). I was amazed how well 16
samples worked. The lightprobe itself is my office from my previous job.
Cheers,
Edouard.

Yes! julia_fractals are pretty amazing.
Kindly let me know...
MegaPov or POV-Ray 3.7?
Radiosity with HDR Map and 16 sample-light, right?
The settings of the focal-blur? Seem rather high...
ciao!

POV 3.7 beta for the Mac. MegaPov works just as well, but doesn't take advantage
of the dual processor in my laptop.
No radiosity, just the 16 sample light dome. I wrote an importer for the
LightMapGen output file to pick up on the area_light size it calculates.
I think the focal blur was 64 samples, but I've edited the file since, so I'm
not 100% sure.
Cheers,
Edouard.

Last one - same scene, slightly different julia parameters.
This is using the same 35mm Camera macros as before, but is rendered using
multiple passes to do the focal blur (among other things), rather than the
built-in one in POVRay.
The intention is that I can use the same camera macros and easily switch between
POVs focal blur, and my stochastic rig. POV can do low-quality focal blur very
fast!
800 passes over several hours.
35mm Camera Debug Output:
Focal Length is 50mm
Focal Ratio is f/1.4
Focal Distance is 1312.4mm
Field of View is 39.6 degrees
Sensor size is 36mm by 18mm
Sensor size is 1500 by 750 (pixels)
Circle of confusion is 0.024mm
Hyperfocal distance is 74454.8mm
Near Focus is 1290.5mm
Far Focus is 1335.1mm
Total distance in focus is 44.55mm
In front of focal plane 21.90mm (49.2%)
Behind focal plane 22.65mm (50.8%)
Cheers,
Edouard.

I understand, HDR only for reflections.
*I am always fascinated by these images. :-)*
LightMapGen seems interesting.
And your macro is finished?
I love the image_map that you used with the POV-logo.
Please, you can post the image?

I keep tweaking them :-) Currently I'm trying to get better random numbers from
POV, but I might try using halton sequences for my sampling parameters instead.

Sure thing!

Edouard.

How embarrassing!
Spell-checked version (with a change of font as well)
Cheers,
Edouard.
