Fresh for the picking. This is along the lines I was originally intending to go
with the tubs.
See my DA gallery for a full size/quality 1680x1050 wallpaper version.

With an artesian water supply as well.

... however, the water use is so heavy that the groundwater table is already
going down, despite the artesian properties... :-)
Mark also that there seems to be no recycling of the waste water... ;-)

PS Still, an interesting scene, Trevor. Intriguing...

Trevor, gotta be honest, this version feels transitional to me. The
single, more realistic tub juxtaposed with parched soil had a stark
magic-realist, mystery for me. The introduction of a further arbitrary
element, (color inventory and random arrangement,) seems more like
something borrowed from Gilles Tran, (I keep thinking Cadillacs.)
Somewhat like a G Tran scene it fills the mind with alternative
possibilities. Tubs in mysterious monolithic arrangements, or
progessively sinking into the soil, colored tubs with colored splashes
underneath, tubs that progress from opaque to transparent, from ice to
steam,...
The stasis of the simpler version resisted such mental super-revving.
Here perhaps you are more involved with the catapulting progression of a
dream image. While Dali was able to have it both ways, the fluidity of
dream images made crystaline, this image begs for completion.

I dont find any sense for this image, but anyway, the quality is so, so, so good
that I have to say CONGRATULATIONS. I love the realism of lighting. You have
used a terribly good radiosity settings, isnt it?
Great!!!

There is no sense in it. Just an abstract/surreal/art piece. It was actually
inspired by a bunch of painted tubs in a field under a tree that I pass on my
way to work.
The lighting is not radiosity, but rather a lighting macro I developed over the
past few years. The lights are basically a dome of area lights of varying
size/colour/intensity, placed according to an HDRI light probe. The HDRI is
also used as the environment background to provide realistic reflections.

I'd be very interested in that macro - you mind publishing it (or maybe even
have published it already)?

I have made some modifications since then though.
You need HDR support to use it. I use megaPOV. It should work in 3.7beta, but
I can't guarantee that until we get a final 3.7 and I can test it fully.
