yes, unfortunately, it is a bit intimidating. I once tried to learn some
japanese. I, ahem, wanted to read japanese RPG videogames from the original.

I was doing just fine, learning some verbs, names, common expressions etc.
First barrier was learning two extra syllabic symbol alphabets: hiragana and
katakana, each with about some 60 symbols. I tried my best and eventually
managed to recognize the words formed with them in the texts. But suddenly, I
stumbled upon a very steep wall: kanji. With about 5000 symbols, I felt
hapless. You know, either you begin to learn it from the very early ages or
you don't... ^_^;;

Yes, I have to master many language. ex: c++, java, lisp, haskell, etc... :)

Thus I want to add a scientific name to "butterfly formed(shaped) lilly" in
Latin.
I named it "Lilium Papilia". Do you think it is right?

It is a big problem of the children in japan. And it is the very big problem
about not only the child but also an adult.
However, there is more big problem for Chinese than Japanese. Chinese uses only
kanji.
Anyway, lnguage is the problem that is most unescapeable...

Hi plus something, welcome!
Wow, beautiful! :)
Do we really have to choose one favourite?
I like these ones:
200501 Lilium Papilia (the white glow makes it somehow noble ^^)
200404 Rose Papillon 3rd Anniversary Memorial Butterfly Charm Silver RIng
(I first thought, that one would be of glass, would also be a nice image)
200604 the medal in box (of course! :) )
200401 De Grote familie (it reminds me of Hiroshige's art, intended?) ^^

Regards

Thank you!

POV. It was only made with Photoshop...

Some of my pictures are not made only with povray.
For example, with Illustrator, Photoshop, GIMP, IrfanView, VirtlPainter, with
povray.

"Lilium Papilia" is made only with povray!

you know, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, the big ones... :)

The last one I played I really liked was Dragon Quest 8 for Playstation 2. My
all-time favorites being Dragon Quest 4, Final Fantasy 6, 7 and Chrono Trigger.
^_^

yes, and I think it doesn't help that children are increasingly learning to type
on a keyboard rather than draw the symbols...

regarding the latin name you gave to your picture: latin is about as alien to
most of us as english to you. Despite it being our ancestral language...

Cool.
You are using multiple programmes with the same success. ^^
Are you a CG artist, working in that field or is it just a hobby?

>"Lilium Papilia" is made only with povray!

They are beautiful! (how would they look like, when they are made of glass? ^^)

>And "Rose Papillon 3rd Anniversary Ring" is made only with povray too!

Really beautiful.
