Well, this is my first foray into POV in a few months. It's (going to be) an
electric guitar. This is a two-fold expiriment. 1: I want to see if I can
do it. and 2: See what I can come up with ;) This is intended to be an
acoustically and constructionally accurate model. If built exactly to the
model, it should be playable, all the hardware is properly positioned, etc.
Heck, who knows, I might actually build this some day ;)

PS: Theres a quite unique design feature to this instrument. Who can find
it?

violin like top and bottom cutaways? Won't be very comfortable when you play
it while sitting ...
30 frets ? You 'll need very smal fingers to play those high tones, and
you'll need extremely good building skills to get the high positions well in
tune.....

The body was most inspired by the Alembic "Triple Omega" body shape.

I played on once, it's not nearly an uncomfortable as you think, and it
looks so neat ;)

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. I'm designing this guitar for lead
playing, so I plan on having only a single pickup. With the body shape
this made the extended neck basically a no-brainer. I think it would still
be playable. Not quite as easy as the lower frets, but those extra 6 frets
are no closer together than say, the frets on a mandolin.

Well the 2 1/2 octave neck stands out immediately.  You realize that getting
the last octave to play in tune is going to be tricky, particularly with
those jumbo frets...

Yea, it'd be interesting. I might use, say, mandolin frets (much smaller)
on the last 8 or so.

neck, and basic body routing for the hardware.
