A project at school due tomorrow: designing an aluminum chair for high
speed passenger ferries. I've only made the metal parts yet.
I am amazed at how quick it is to design in Rhino. I also like the
renderer in Rhino because of the 'Render wireframe' feature. Makes it
easier to see the shapes. This is the pic going into the report:

The poser guy looks odd, I know. It's my first Poser model.. I just
threw him in for the occasion.

Reached escape velocity apparently.
Will it have arm rests, or not? Looks structurally sound anyway, tension on
the angled cross-braces I guess. Not that I really know. Except wouldn't
there be a lot of compression force on the two back legs? Again, I wouldn't
know for sure. Now I'm thinking the cross-brace would actually have
compression forces too. I should have never replied :-)

:) I've made some cushions for him now. Rhino render atached.
The legs are constructed with collision in mind. I've done some simple
simulations where a mass hits .5m up on the backrest + one in the
joint. This will result in tension and moment in the back legs. The
cross brace is there to withstand shear force and will have
compression.
Anyway, the idea is that the adjustment-gizmo works as a damper when a
mass hits from behind. If the passenger has to high velocity he will
bounce further due to the angeled backrest.
