:) I've made some cushions for him now. Rhino render atached.
The legs are constructed with collision in mind. I've done some simple
simulations where a mass hits .5m up on the backrest + one in the
joint. This will result in tension and moment in the back legs. The
cross brace is there to withstand shear force and will have
compression. 
Anyway, the idea is that the adjustment-gizmo works as a damper when a
mass hits from behind. If the passenger has to high velocity he will
bounce further due to the angeled backrest.
