Hello,

the subject "Reflective Sphere on Checkered Plane" appears to be
en vogue again. This is my interpretation of it. The fur has been
realised with my patch, which has found its way in the upcoming
MegaPOV 1.1 (thanks to ABX). I will put the source of this scene
in povray.binaries.scene-files.

Greetings
Thomas

Nice texture. How is it done, incidence of angle pattern?

You need to make something that uses that texture now.... maybe a
tricked out pimp hat or a teddy bear out in the rain sitting in a
puddle.... time to start drawing again :)

No, it's actually a "hypertexture". I hacked - aeh - "patched" the
media to simulate hairs.

I've already created and posted a teddy bear, long time ago and without
rain and mud:
http://news.povray.org/povray.binaries.images/27008/
However, I felt like this is my interpretation of the RSOCP subject
(and an advertisment for MegaPOV 1.1).

What's next is to apply it to a mesh and more precisely to a bunny.

Greetings
Thomas

An effective method, by the looks of it.

I remember this teddy bear. Some of the media containers are a little
bright against the background.... I wish it were easier to get
completely transparent textures in POV.... perhaps I should post a note
to the advanced section for a solution to that.

I'm looking forward to it.

For some reason it looks like a natural sponge instead...soft and
squishy, not very fuzzy. Maybe because of the sharp edges...it would
probably look better on something that is expected to be fuzzy.

color rgbf 1

As a guess, you were using something like "rgbft 1"?
