Ok this is the final version of the scene. All I need to do is increase
light source density to get remove banding and render with antialiasing. Is
it still too dark? I may have to increase gamma. Thanks go to Chris Colefax
for galaxy.inc used for the background.

It is bright enough here.
I like it. I don't have any idea what a bunch of rough finished routered
wooden cubes connected with chrome pipes are doing floating around in
outer space surrounded by nubulae, but I like it. :-)
One suggestion: don't touch the lights, but set ambient_light to 0 and
use MegaPOV radiosity. It would be nice with anti-aliasing, but that
would probably erase the stars.

No jitter in the 'area_light'?
I had been wondering why this wood is green tinted, even the
pressure-treated stuff we have here isn't this green (yellow-green?) and in
fact it is more of a blue-green and only on the uncut surfaces then fades
within, which is actually why this doesn't look right to me I guess.
Expecting to see color shifts in the cuts.
Aside from my viewpoint on this it now looks like a well modelled scene.

Very, very good. I recommend you "jitter" the area light before the final trace, in
case you weren't planning to do so already.

Looks great Paul. I agree with Chris. It may take some tweeking to get the
stars to show up with anti-alias and radiosity, but it'd be worth it.

Nah, didn't happen on Ron Parker's Birthdat Image...
Especially if it will be rendered at 300 dpi...

You mean add more lights? Why not just use area lights with jittering?
It is a neat idea but I agree it is too green. I would expect a color more like
one of the T_Woods.

Cool. Looks like an image one might see when in a dream state or something.

Dear Paul,

This looks great to me. Nice detailing on the boxes and a cool scene,
too. The lighting looks fine to me, but more experienced artist's
opinions about that should prevail.

Blessings,
