Reasons:
1 - I believe in this philosophy: too much is better than too little, even for
the HOF. :-D
2 - Because *fame* in Italian means *hunger*. And... I'm famished!
4 - Because I pove LOV... delete... I love POV-Ray! ;-)
5 - Just for fun, of course.

3 are not enough, so I'll pick more ;)
First Pick: 7, 14, 18
2nd Pick: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
3rd Pick: 1-20 ;)
(A very few of these shots I would actually not place in the HOF, because I find
them boring; but then again, the same goes for some shots already in the HOF -
and anyway it's probably more a matter of taste, and if the idea is to show all
you can do with POV-Ray, then they're perfectly ok in there.)
(hum... somehow I imagined 14 already was in the HOF?)
Plus, add that "unfinished sphere" shot, by all means - if only for the sake of
the ingenious concept!

I love the effect of the subsurface scattering. It'll be exciting when that gets into
the 3.7 release.

Flattered, but does anyone have a more original mesh to put into the scene? I
think the HOF images should all show technique as well as artistic merit.
Needless to say, it would boost the latter of the two if it weren't just a
standard mesh on a simple background, in the style of a previous image. In
other words, "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!"
Oh, and 2, 7, 8, 17, 18

AIUI, this shot was made with media effects to sim the SSS, so it can be done
with 3.6.1 as well...
But something that gives almost as good results at faster speed would be a great
thing of course.

Whoa, man! Thanks for taking your time to research into this. Nice
montage, some I've seen before but others are nice additions. p.b.i
really contain many gems... :)

Where can I find the dragon model? Is it available for free?

I second that!
Here's something to contemplate: Should the HOF showcase images that only show
off POV-Ray's impressive 'strengths'? Or should it also include POV images that
have pictorial beauty, regardless of what techniques were used? (Of course,
having both at the same time is the ideal; but they are different philosophical
concepts.) I kind of sense that the general attitude is for including, first and
foremost, the 'strengths' side of things. I don't disagree; but that may be
slighting some of the more intrinsically beautiful or complex images in p.b.i,
those that have great subject matter, composition or what-not, but which may
not have gobs of radiosity, depth-of-field, SSS, etc.
Either type of image would be most welcome, IMO.
