Great! Will you be taking commissions? :-)

Oh! I was thinking of that old Chinese curse. "May you live in interesting
times."

Coming back from the mill, I guess.... :-)
You can interpret this as stains or as fading of the dyes, I suppose.
Making tears or holes in the cloth should involve a pigment_pattern with a
transparancy map. However, the tricky thing would be to have all that
positioned conveniently. Not impossible, but would need some trial and
error... I shall leave that for later. I am looking into furs now. I think I
shall have a closer look at Tim Nikias' surcoat macros which should do the
trick maybe...

Yes that looks as if it's been a hard day at the mill :-)
I'll be interested to see how you get on with furs. I don't know if you've seen
MASA's web site "POSER++"? He has a utility FurFur which uses the hair generator
as a basis for fur. It is unfortunately Poser 4 but his animation program worked
in Poser 5 and 6. One of those things I've not found time to try. BTW is that
Poser 7 dynamic hair?

I can make the wear on the cloth less conspicuous of course, but I like it
for the time being.
I shall have a look at that site. I have been thinking about using the Hair
Room or one of the conforming hair images to try and simulate fur, but that
might be difficult. If FurFur works in Poser 6, it probably will work also
in Poser 7.
No the guy's hair is not dynamic. It is a G2 James conforming hair figure.
The G2 versions of the hair in Poser 7 are somewhat better than those of
Poser 6. While the Kozaburo hair is nice, I don't like its over-emphasized
highlights in the image maps. The G2 do not have that problem.
Unfortunately, the dynamic hair is still a difficult subject when exporting
to POV-Ray. I have yet to experiment further with Poseray's lines which
offer a partial solution for that. I hope FlyerX will find a brilliant
solution some day... :-)

I like it too

Using PAE I had to hack the BVH files to remove the Centre of mass. I've not
tried FurFur or Drop Maker since I had Poser 4

I was hoping that FlyerX had fixed the problem of dynamic hair :-(
And I am sure he will crack it one day.
