That's great! I love the concept.

You might try wrinkles or f_ridged_mf for the water; I personally don't find
f_noise3d to be very realistic for water surfaces.

That's very nice! (It reminds me of a YKNYHBRTL-dream, I once had - with all
those checkered aor reflective textures)
I especially like the transitions between the three parts, and the lighting!

neat!

You should get all the little guys in the yellow room to be facing the one
little guy in the centre, as if in awe or something.

Funny :) Maybe I should enter it in IRTC then ;) Need to make the
dream-stuff more obvious though.. Maybe someone fell asleep, tipped the cup
over and opened a portal to another dimension?? Or at least dreaming it.. ;)

Thanks :) Need something more between the middle and the yellow room
though.. There are three 6x6 adaptive 0 area lights, one in each room. (~3
hours render time, will do 10x10 adaptive 5 lights with final render). The
blue room has ambient 0.5, to make it a little brighter..

Good idea! The idea was they travel through our dimension to attend to a
meeting or something.. I'll have a look at it..

A little turbulent maybe, it's another dimension after all ;) I like the
transition though, because it looks like waterdrops.
This is my first isosurface used in a scene, so I'm rather new at it, but
it's really useful! I'll take a look at wrinkles and f_ridged_mf.. But how's
the render time compared to f_noise3d? It renders quite fast now actually,
after I tweaked the parameters a bit. The render time of ~3 hours is much
because of the transparent blob-water falling out of the cup, although the
isosurface needs it time too ;)

Well, thanks folks ;)
Any ideas on how I should do the transition between the middle and the
yellow room? I'd like to go for some escher-like stuff, (since you all
mention it ;) something connected to the cup to make it fit in the middle
room, and something square like the boxes in the yellow room, to make a
transition..

Escher inspired me with this picture:
