Bueno!!!... Jaime, eres el amo.

Amaizing... Incredible.
When I see artworks like this, I really don't have words to say...
Sorry.
(running to p.b.s-f.).

Absolutely amazing!
Although: on the second look it looks a tiny little bit like made of clay,
don't you think so? Maybe due to the scratches? I don't know why. I had just
this feeling.
Anyway, it's more than excellent!

See my recent post on p.b.s-f., there is the code for the set of macros I
used to manage lights at that "high level", and a link to a web page
explaining the whole idea.

I'm sure my implementation of the real data is not "physiscally correct",
but it gives nice results and make easy for me to manage known artificial
lights. I hope to get some comments if someone uses it, to make it more
handy and correct if possible.

You're right! I was not sure about it, but now that you mention it, seems
like the material is soft, too deformable... just like metal-painted clay!
And you're also right about what is causing it: the small normal pattern is
not very good for such metal, I must work on it.

  Thanks again!

The lighting looks phenomenal, though I expect nothing less from you :)
Trying the lights now...

If you continue posting photos and try to pass them as renders, you will be
banished.

Pretty impressive.

I got the impression that your set of macros, and the recent discussions about
realistic lighting, will open a new era in POV-Ray realistic imagery. I can't even
imagine all the possibilities...

Very, very nice! My only concern is the 'pitting' on the surfaces, but
you've explained that already. The lighting IMO is excellent!

Nice macro camera you have there..... ;)

Your image looks quite photographic to me. It is stunning to say the least.
May I ask how you created the texture for the bolts and nuts? The small
dents and pits
look very nice, how did you accomplish it?

Averaged normals: I used two patterns, one for the "microsurface" and
other for the dents or "macrosurface". I averaged several copies of them,
rotated and translated. Of course, it needs >40 samples on the focal blur
to give smooth results.

Indeed, I noticed now that I forgot to post the code for this scene!
Willl post it latter on p.b.s-f.
