I have been working on this version of an Omega Constellation (18ct 1966)

I am trying to inject more realism into the image.

I will try rendering with Radiosity and Photons next, although the only
effect the photons seem to add is darkening the crystal. The watch is
sitting (floating) above a simple box with T_Wood6 as the texture and the
background is a large sphere with a hastily drawn "outdoor" scene (looks
like a really bad Monet) and behind the watch is a black/blue colored disc.
The background, tabletop, etc are only there as they seemed "okay" at the
time. The scene takes about 5 hours on a PIII 1Gig

I'm not really sure where I'm going with this image yet.

Any comments, suggestions, improvements, etc are welcome...

AWESOME ROLEX!

Sorry, couldn't resist ...

IMHO, radisoity would help as would some work on the shadows cast on the
watch face. Light placement seems bad. The existing shadows seem unreal,
especially the ones at the bottom of the face. The large highlight seems
unrealistic and ill placed. I'd also put a very slight irregularity on the
finish of the case and/or the face material.

Yes the lighting is certainly bad. The highlight is simply too much glare
at the edge (wasn't added in) Perhaps an area light would be preferrable.
I am debating using a "staryy/galaxy" type background to go with the watch
name and perhaps lean it against a small meteor. The gold texture could
certainly use some "aging" due to its actual age.

I think a change of lighting, and plenty of rad will make a world of
difference

excellent detail btw
