Looking for comments on this simple (but hopefully effective) spider. It
will hopefully turn into a proper IRTC entry when/if complete (2nd one). I
started using the grass macro for Moray yesterday and here are my results
(applying a green pigment and waiting 9 hours!) in combination with a spider
made in Rhino (fully IK'd now) and a previously used (chair) rust texture.
I hope to expand it (little garden/other bugs/spiders) as well as producing
a little story to back up their existence/reason for living. It was
slightly ammended as the green was ugly and too dark. Hope you like...

Looks like a computer mouse with legs. Maybe you aught to go with that in
your story.

Of course you're going for an alien robot spider. It is a good one.
Love the real looking grass. I did an image with spiders that I modeled
with sPatch. Spiders are great objects to model. Have you played with
radiosity on this image. Could be interesting- you could contain it with
a box out of the range of view.

Normally a spider has a cephalotorax (don't know in english...) and an
abdomen... Their head is part of the cephalotorax, and their legs are attached
to that one too... and then you can see a big thing behind it which we call an
abdomen...

Also, I don't see much clearly if you've done this but they also have claws for
eating, etc...

Unless this is the look you intended to give it, adding an abdomen will result
in a much better reaction!

My opinion...

Hey I like the grass...... Just kidding.....

the rust texture is very good.
Could we see it from the front - perhaps with out the grass

Here's a shot from the front and without the magical grass macro (BTW is it
possible to parse to an INC file and then easily use that INC file again
without rewriting it or creating a UDO?). He's quite simple but I hope to
expand into a scene.

Oh yeah and any ideas/comments on the scale of the rust, I'm happy with the
tex but not sure about the scaling.?

Small pic of the underside of a real spider to clarify the above.
