Hi all
Just a couple of isosurfaces, a bit of csg, modified (uses trace) Gilles
Tran grass macro, and a few spline blobs. The hedge is abit too perfect so
far, maybe disrupt in with a pigment or something and the texture is too
bright. Lots of things to add, mainly csg, so I'll probably do some of it
over the weekend.
Stats, 17.5 mins on PIII 667, peak mem, 8.5 mb. I wanted to use radiosity,
but at about 5 pps I decided against it, unsurprisingly.
Comments and criticisms as ever, very welcome.

5 pps too slow? You are really lucky! :-)
It looks nice, but a bit more close view or larger render for the details
would be good.

Well 5pps was slow as I only had a couple of hours left at wok. I realy must
try to get some scnes done at work as my contrct finishes in 3 weeks and I
am out of a job.
The worst thing is I move from works PIII 667 with 128mb ram, to my very old
P133 with 32mb ram, it just isn't fair.

The bad part is you know the stuff most businesses need computers for doesn't
require anywhere near a 600MHz pc. It's just bloatware, os overhead,
poorly-wirtten software, and the ignorance that even with those factors you
still won't get much benefit from a lightning fast pc for emailing memos and
putting your stock options in Excel.

I finally replaced my P133 with 32mb in march of 2000 as a birthday present to
myself. Now I have a PIII 733 + 256 MB of sdram at 133mhz and a 19 inch monitor
dolby digital surround sound speakers ect. What is holding you back from
upgrading? I looked up the prices at a local retailer, and you could get a
667mhz celeron, slot1 motherboard, socket converter, 64megs of sdram, and a case
for $302.50.

Well the thing that is holding me back is a lack of funds. I'm out of a job
in 3 weeks so have to try and hold some back as I don't know how long it
will take me to get another job. I'm also still paying off my student loans
and overdraft after graduating from uni 18 months ago, and a degree in
Mathematical Physics doesn't seem to be opening up many career options for
me, sigh.
Oh well, I'll get a nice new PC soon, I have promised myself. Probably the
worst thing is I'm still stuck with a blurry 14inch monitor, yes my computer
is that old, nearly 5 years now. If only I'd spent those student loans on
something more sensible than alcohol, at least I had fun though ;-)

Not in UK. We pay a lot more in the UK than the US on white and beige goods.
