A java tree generator written by Gena.
I think next IRTC round will feature some Pov-trees

Thanks, I couldn't have done it without you :)

It's an honor. I started with the spruce example and then made
three modified versions seen in the image.

I have a good starting idea of the controls for the trunk and branches
but I need to get a better idea of the controls for the twigs, leaf,
and the bunchs. I still don't really understand the ramifications of
cause and effect with all of the options available. Some of the help
notes just get me more confused but that is not unusual for me...

In the works. Placement is the hard part. I'm trying to come up with some
exclusion zones around the trees themselves but I haven't found a working
solution yet.

Ah duh! Now I see them.

I've had it hang up a couple of times and have had to quit and come back
in to get preview working again. The first couple of times I tried the
program I couldn't get anything to preview but then on the third try
everything magically started working. No problems now.

Thanks.

I was really going for that siloutte look. This image was inspired by one
I found on the net a few months ago showing an asian woman in a billowy
summer dress walking along a ridge line at sunset and shot from below.
The colors of the sky were very similar but you could only make out the
outline of the ridge and the girl walking on it. The only real detail was
the clouds and sky itself.

If I can add more detail to the scene, and make it look realistic, I might
try a daylight version of it. We'll have to wait and see...

Wow, your second image this month, you are getting quite productive... ;-)

Nice work on the trees but they could be more random in the detail. The
lighting is somewhat strange. I suppose the shadows are coming from
moonlight. I think the scenery would look more spectacular if the light
comes more from the sunset.

Try some 'wrapping cylinders' around the trees and use the 'inside()'
function.

I got burned out a couple of years ago and am finally starting to enjoy it
again.

I'll work on it some more, thanks for the suggestions.

Beautiful Sky!

I've been trying to make that sky forever.
