well the scaling was the first thing i thought of when i saw the first
image. but everyone was talking about max trace levels and the black spots,
so i thought that might be your main concern. maybe the lid is too big? and
maybe the top of the bottle bubbles out too much? the electric razor looks
monsterous compared to the soap bottles. i'm thinking how big my shampoo
bottles are compared to my razor, the razor is considerably smaller i think.

Hmm... This does look a lot better than the previous ones. But some of the
original problem still exists. I was wondering could this have to do with
the mesh you exported from Rhino, you did model these in rhino right? I
think I can make out some unsmooth edges at the top of the soap bottle,
perhaps if you use higher quality mesh settings then the refraction
artifacts will go away? Just guessing.

Do you have this scene enclosed in room (i.e. does this scene have
ceiling, floor, 4 walls)? I remember, that someone had very same problem
about black dots and it was due to fact, that ceiling was missing and
all the rays, which where refracted/reflected upward, returned black
color. Perhaps this is the problem (sorry, if this is already suggested,
I haven't followed discussion threads in your previous works, as I read
these NG-s 'diagonally' due to lack of time).
