No, not at all !
The P-38 Lightning was in service with the US Army Air Force.
It never operated from onboard a carrier. This is for sure.

BTW, the first twin-engined aircraft in history that got released for
carrier
operations within the US Navy was the Grumman F7F Tigercat
which is also a nice plane, though not as elegant and well-known
as the P-38 is.

Ooops....!
Sorry, I don't make animations.
Just still images.
Maybe I'll try one in the far future,
but I cannot promise it !

Yes, that's it. All script, no modeller. I like it that way !

I have quite a lot of literature related to this subject.

The SU-25 looks much more interesting to me so that has my vote.

BTW both of your current draft images look like they don't need much
more work anyway (:-)

At least you have avoided the cliche of a Czech Plane.

I'd like to see the P-38. The Lt. General (Lake?) of Elmendorf AFB
started a recovery of the last known P-38 (I think the G model) before
he died. (Plane crash)
The P-38 went down on a training flight in the Unalaska islands, and the
air force just left it there. But this year, it was at the air show
after about a year and a half being fixed up.

Ahh, I don't think they are renders. At least, not the SU-25. Maybe the
P-38.

Actually, there are several P-38's being restored at a field in Kentucky (I
think it is). They were recovered from Greenland under more then 100 feet of
ice. The recovery process was documented in a PBS special titled "The Lost
Squadron." Some (perhaps most) of the aircraft, and a B17 too, are still
under the ice. Recovery of the P-38's cost a cool (heh) million a piece. It
was stated that the B17 was so heavily crushed by the weight of the ice that
it would be infeasible to recover it, though most of the 38's were in good
shape.

If, you get a chance, check it out. The "mole" process they used during
extraction was quite ingenious.

Hence the smiley in my comment about draft images. I was being ironic.
