This is my first post(I think). These are some models I created long ago,
both are csg, nothing special. I'd like some comments or suggestions.

Welcome then if so.
Might try texturing the individual parts. And using both specular and phong
highlighting together with either one of the two being much more tighter than
the other. Also metallic brilliance if you haven't used that. Not easy to
discern.
They look pretty neat, a nice style.

*drool* Woohoo! This is great work! The modelling anyway, the
texturing needs work. For the wraith, try:

object { Wraith pigment { rgbf 1 } interior { ior 1.15 } }

:))

A little finish{} work, and an image_map.

Gee, for a new guy in town (here rather) you sure get the envy going.
I'd still like it better if there were individual textures on the various
parts, whatever the heck they are. Of course, "better" is relative to the
last "best" and never ceases to exist :-)

Not many envious of my texturing skills, I hope.

I'm not sure what the best way to create individual textures is. Meaning,
would it be best to use the same image_map for all parts, just oriented for
each one? Or something else? I'm going to draw up squadron markings and
such, but that doesn't texture the whole thing.

Well, you had said it was all CSG so I presumed that to mean POV-Ray
primitives and such, so not a DXF export from something else; no faceting
noticed either :-)
All I was suggesting were various pigments on individual pieces then, like
gold on the engine cowlings or weapons. Just an example.
