Howdy,

Here is just a little something to go in a scene I am working on, There are
a couple of problems, i.e. no splashes on the drips and the moss/brick join
on the bottom bricks needs some turbulence (I forgot), anyway it's not quite
the focal point and is not too close in it's designated scene so nevermind.
This took just over 6 and a half hours on my p133, damn water material. The
fountain stand is all CSG and the water is made of isosurfaces. Hopefully I
can get on with some more of the scene now.

Comments and criticisms more than welcome

cheers,
Kev

I'm way liking that water . . . not just the drops but the surface
in the bottom pool along the shadow line. Very nice. I like the fountain
also . . . got any snipets of code or textures, macros to share? hehe ;)
The moss sounds interesting - would like to know how you are growing
that - got a few things I'd like to add that to. Thanks.

The blue coloration doesn't go right with this imo. Doesn't seem to be from a
sky or that would show in the pools. Does look a nice addition to a scene.

<really nit picky> It needs some spashpoints on the waters surface, but other
wise it's a great modeleing job. At the bottom, just ot the left of center the
distinction between the water and the stones is blurry, but that look like it's
because of the method you used to "wet" those stones.</really nit picky>

You can sure find a lot to improve for such a great pic!

I think the moss is too regular. Real moss consits of spots in different
sizes. Also it is not spread regulary. You will find it only on one side
of the fountain (mostly where the wind blows the water drops). Try to
make a bump-map for the moss so that it seems to grow on the bricks.

So far from moss-monster Karl

actually the blue coloration is from the sky_sphere, the water is rgbf 1
with a slightly green fade_color. I have no idea why the sky doesn't appear
in the pools?

An very early stage, work in progress version of the whole scene can be
found at
http://web.libertysurf.co.uk/kevin.ellis/interest/pov/square.jpg
I've totally changed the clouds and there are no textures, plus loads of
modelling left, wouldn't mind knowing what people think so far though?
