I'll just comment on all 3 here.
This third image is what seems most real to me, the second image being
very much so too except very bright as if just opening my eyes at noon.
The first image seems to have a floating spheres look to it. All this just opinion
of course.
I think you have a fabulous set of textures going, as well as great lighting
and overall sense of realism.

Bob

Nice. Very nice. Very, very nice. This is like looking at something out of
the Lightwave[6] gallery. Amazing. Keep it up. Show the world that POV can!

Is the marble slab using an image map? if so, great use of an image map.
if not, even better use of a texture :)

They all look pretty good IMHO. I love the texture on the slab!

You are right the first image have some problems. This is not always
simple
to "blend" all the object together. Even in the marvelous, great, etc..
image of Gilles Tran, "the thing red which contain water for firemen"
(I dont't know the word in english :)) is not completly well "blended"
in the enviroment.

 All this just opinion

Thank you very very much!

Perhaps yes, even if rad is not always easy in exterior
scene. Curiously, there not many difference between 1 and
4 recursion limit !? But I agree I could try to tickle a
little more the rad parameter but it was just quick test,
because I am sure that I will need to change these settings
for the "real" scenes I need to render.

Thanks you very much!!

Touchdown! Before the week-end I looked to this new gallery
and saw a video with some sphere and I decided to try to do
something with pov and in the same time test my texture and
lightning settings. I recommend to everyone to go to this
gallery (http://www.newtek.com/) and also don't miss
the video (last gallery I think) with the sphere. Really
amazing!!
I am sure that we can do better than my picture with pov!!
I am really sure. Because I didn't use "professional"
tricks. Prof. use several light per object etc...

>Amazing. Keep it up. Show the world that POV can!

I will try to do my best :).

Fabian.

Yes this is an image_map, like all the textures in this scene
except the metal, the glass and the sky. This rise the realism.
The textures are enhance with corel photopaint using some
directionnal blur (I don't why this is called like this,
(this is an english traduction of french word) it should be
"directionnal sharpen" but...).

Fabian.
