Hey all,

Not a work of art or even a finished scene... just playing around with
photons and media.

Aw heck, I could do that in a 2D e-paint program. Just kidding (maybe). Lets
see, what's the word for that color... terracotta perhaps? It just doesn't fit
the usual coloration of laser light normally expected. It's still pretty neat
anyway, knowing how it's done. Although, isn't the doubling over of the light
beams too saturated? I'd have to go looking for pictures of this sort of thing
to really say myself.

I've tried every variation of red and they all end up looking pink and
cartoonish. Probably some particular tweak to the media and photons that
I've overlooked would fix it. I finally decided that it would be easier to
go for a cartoonish look to the rest of the scene than to try to get the
laser right.

I've been going for a particular look to the non-doubled portion of the
light beam and whatever the doubled part ends up looking like... that's what
it looks like.

The obvious thing might be that somehow white is getting mixed in. One of the
color vectors used in the media or light_source? Since it's using 'photons' I'd
hazard to guess the light_source at fault.
Anyhow, I didn't want to sound like I didn't like the render. Kind of a 50's
Sci-Fi magazine cover look to it so far.

Hey Erick

If you want us to fix the colour in the lazer you'll have to post
yoru code. Have you tried something like rgb <0.4,0,0>.
And just for experimentations sake try rgb <1,0,0>/2
