I've tried every variation of red and they all end up looking pink and
cartoonish.  Probably some particular tweak to the media and photons that
I've overlooked would fix it.  I finally decided that it would be easier to
go for a cartoonish look to the rest of the scene than to try to get the
laser right.

I've been going for a particular look to the non-doubled portion of the
light beam and whatever the doubled part ends up looking like... that's what
it looks like.
