I've been away doing other things and have only recently got back to
POV-Ray.

Here is a quick scene showing how Blob Man has changed.

Firstly you will notice Blob Man now has a Lady Friend, I can't take credit
for the body modelling of her as she was adapted from the lady.inc file
created by Yasunari Iwanaga < iwa### [at] posaganetnejp >, a link to
lady.inc can be found in the POV-Ray link section.

I have remodelled Blob Man himself, and there will be a lot of new features
when the next version comes out.

*The upper torso can now be rotated
*Each finger joint can now be positioned separately (again this was taken
from lady.inc)
*The neck can be positioned as well as the head
*The can be angled
*New Origin Variables allow the figures to be rotated and located on y,0 so
that they will stand on either flat feet or on tip toes.

The new release shouldn't be too long, in the meantime if anyone has any
comments or suggestions.......

Regards,

Peter H.

Hey, are you competing with Poser now? Looking nice. Only thing I can say
right now is that the ankles appear swollen. Maybe if you could just use a
cylinder blob component going side to side there instead that would work better
maybe.

Great to see that one of my favorite include files is evolving!
Suggestion: It would be good if it was easier to scale him/her into a
certain size. When I wanted a blobman that was exactly 1.8 meters tall I had
to do a lot of trial and error, and ended up doing a while loop with trace()
to measure his height so I could scale him... Also more of the Origin_* vars
would be nice, so you could position stuff at, for example, the
shoulders/elbows/nose/etc...

Great! (I needed to do some stuff with a hand the other day, but needed more
options with the fingers than the previous version had - I'll give this one
a go).

The blobs don't seem to blend in too well around the knees (particularly the
woman). The woman has a strange sort of diaganol line near the top of her
thies (as viewed from the front), I'd suggest it's something to do with her
bum.

Nice work.

Grrr... I will need to download it again....

Some comments:

1- The toes should not be alligned in this fashion.

               '''''

_

There are two main types of feet, named after the prevalent styles
used by sculptors if these countries: "egyptian feet": all the toes
are line up in a diagonal line (Big toe is longer than others) and
"greek feet": big toe is the same length as the second toe and the
others are lined un in a diagonal line.

2 - A woman's legs should just touch in four spots: the crotch, just
above the knees, Just below the knees and at the ankles.

3 - Your man's waist is way too thin compared to his hips. Most men
have almost no noticeable hips. This is why construction workers are
all losing their pants.

4 - The woman shoulders are too square.

5 - Never mind everything I said above and keep up the good work.

Nope, there's a third type of feet, named "square fee" (not sure of the
name, though): all the toes are of the same lenght. But it's very rare
and awful to find shoes in which you are comfortable <grin>
