Here's an updated version of my Starfighter with some of the textures
changed. I also threw in a background using Chris Colefax's excellent Galaxy
include (what a guy!) and added an engine glow and exhaust.

Pretty neat. You using 'metallic' and 'brilliance' on it? Doesn't seem
like it is why I ask. The color of the engine housings of the previous one
wasn't so much a problem as the finish was I thought. I mean, texture is a
choice of the creator after all (so why am I saying anything about
"metallic"? Oh well...)
More prominent exhaust flames would be good, if you think in terms of a more
flashy appearance anyway.

Heh, you changed more then just the textures!

This is really well done.

Nice Image .-) I will definitly be looking at the Galaxy include... Any
Moray plugin
for that yet ? (Ups, off topic in this ng.. Ill ask again somewhere else...)

I tend to be a little picky when it comes to sci-fi images, especially when
it comes
to design so I just have one question ; How does the damn thing land ? Hover
capabillities ? Ramp ?

And what are the helicopter look a like things near the cockpit for ? How
does the
pilot get inside ?

Personally, I think if one start to modell these things properly, it makes
very "realistic" sci-fi
images .-)

But still, I do like the image :-)

Glenn.

Check out this URL above. It has the reuseable spacecraft X-33 there
showing renderings and a couple animations. The thing isn't so realistic
even though it exists; goes for many things...
I was looking for something about a project to assist in launches (of what,
I'm not certain) that is going on near here at Marshall Space Flight Center
in Huntsville Alabama. Didn't find a web page about it : (
Think it might be a magnetic induction type thing, like what's used in a
roller coaster I've heard about where it propels the cars at the startup to
90 miles per hour or something. This spacecraft or aircraft launcher is
supposed to be 600 miles per hour. I thought of both this and the rendering
here of "Starfighter 2" because of the way the Jedi fighters launched in
Star Wars E4, at least it seemed they started up under magnetic flux power
or something, really don't know. Just reminded me of that.

Wow, this is a good source for a very detailed modelling project for anyone
who is up for it .-)
