Ken: a non-progressive jpeg. I'm sorry about the progressive one: didn't
know something like that existed. ImageReady is all very new to me. It
*does* have a checkbox for progressive...

This is just a *small* part of the mosque. Wait till you have seen all of
it! It's a building with about 600 or 700 of those columns....

looks great.

Thanks for the user friendly version. I'm impressed with your work so far.
It looks to be a very ambitious project but you really seem to have a good
start. I think the lighting is a bit busy but I'm sure you will tone that
down as you go :)

Would area lighting do better for this? It's good stuff and all but I can't
help but think the long shadows should start fuzzing up at the far reaches.

It looks mesmerizing with all those columns.
I like the detail there, especially the ornaments at the top.
I'm not sure about the arcs, they seem a bit too smoothe.
I haven't been there, I only know it from pictures, but I can't imagine the
light there being as it is now, but I guess you're still working on that.
What are the coloured things in the back?

So that's the mysterious project that bugged you so long? I am glad to
see it has turned out amazingly well. Congratulations! I am not going
to pick on lighting etc. because I realise this is a work in progress.
From what I know, the Spanish culture has many Arabic motives
interwoven. Is this the case with the Mezquita? I suggest you take a
look at www.islamicart.com when you have more time, just in case.
Also, are there any arabeskes on the floor/domes/columns? If so, I
suggest you check out Arabeske (www.wozzeck.net/arabeske/).
I am looking forward to seeing more of this. Just one more question --
<OT> how do you think Concierto de Aranjuez will sound if performed
there? </OT> <grin>

Nice image, it needs area lights.
