Thanks for quoting the whole original article (all the tens of kilobytes
of it). We appreciate it very much.

It's the textual representation of the code for the image and thanks for
making me download all 90kb of it -again-

Turns out that the original poster is using a broken newsreader. If he posts in
MIME, MS Outlook 2000 is broken and can't handle the RFC-complient MIME. If he
posts as UUEncoding, it works with MS Outlook, but the newsreader does the wrong
thing and Netscape obeys it and displays it as plain text instead of an image.
Once MS Outlook is fixed, then he'll have no problems. (I'm holding my breath
now)

Et tuus, Warpus, contra me? I noticed that Richard was using Windows,
supposed he had IE and gave him the simplest, fastest and cheapest
solution to view that particular post, _nothing_more_than_that_. When
are you guys going to stop flaming me?

It was not his fault and the authors of his newsreader should be
informed about the issue by now.

I'm not flaming _you_ personally. I'm flaming everyone who thinks that
everybody is using Windows.
If I offended you, then I apologize.

Oh, I dunno. Maybe the header line from Richard's post that said:

X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.7 [en] (Win95; I)

Oh, I dunno, maybe this part?

Then that would be me.

Seems like I'm one of the few who didn't have a problem with the post,
but there again I'm not using a graphical news reader. I have to tell
it to decode a message, so it looks at the message (not the headder),
and decodes anything that doesn't look like plain text. Wonder if it'd
compile Warps sig? I'll have to give it a try.

Right, nothing, I admit. Perhaps I should adjust my attitude when
talking aobut OSs (it has put me into trouble despite my will to be
objective and neutral). I have no idea how text-based newsreaders deal
with images, probably like Lynx (i.e. decode, save and launch an
external app.) and can't really help the users of such software.

Three years ago, everyone here in Bulgaria did (PCs are cheaper than
Macs, have more software available as warez, the OS is easily
pirateable etc.) Now the share of Linux is so great that I am the last
person in the world thinking that everyone is MS-compatible. Offices,
game clubs, and home computers of middle-aged people are the only true
MS-only machines. Art schools use Macs, other schools use Linux and
most people have dual-boot machines.
