I'm surprised that so many people here are still asking for source
code; the scanline (I suspect 3DS) nature of that watch is obvious, no ?
If it was made with Pov :
- there would be no environnement-mapping
- the watch would reflect itself and the black surrounding
- given the lighting, the watch would cast a shadow on itself...

Cheers,
Fabien.

the evidence, just zap an email on over, and I'll send it to you..

Has anyone seen the screensaver at:

http://www.areteis.com/screen.htm (Link provided by xweb further up in the post)

? Its very similar to his movie! I also checked out areteis's home page. They
offer a 14 day free trial of their software which help to produce these images,
its a plugin for Softimage, Maya and Power Animator. He could have easily
created these images with a pirated copy of one of these and the trial plugin.

Nicholas: If you are going to use ANYTHING like these tools then the least you
can do is mention that you used them and not say that you created them out of
your own artistic skills and sweat and blood in Pov-Ray. If I am wrong then
simply post the Pov-Ray Source Code you used and I'll take everything back.

I wouldn't say the ocean pic is too good wor POV-ray. There have been many
exremely realistic ocean pictures in the past. Just look at some of the IRTC
images. Most of them were made with POV.

Evidence? Well I sort of do just check my post about two posts up.

You might, but you should probably start using POV-Ray first.

If you didn't use modeling software to make this, then what did you use?
CSG? Isosurfaces? Did you calculate mesh coordinates in your head? I
don't buy it. Furthermore, while it's technically possible to make this
picture in POV-Ray, the reflections on the metal band don't appear to
come from anywhere, which is very un-POV-like.

Also, according to the Internet Law of Duck Resemblance, since you spell
like an semiliterate moron, you must be one. A semiliterate moron could
not, IMO, have created this image.

What strikes me as particularly odd about this is the AWSUM ROLEX! reference.
