After eight months of drawing, typing, sweating and swearing, I am
pleased to announce my latest film, "Break Time", made with MegaPOV 1.0.

To view it, go to http://www.huntel.net/goofygraffix/movies.html and
click on the "Break Time" link.

It's a pretty large film - just under six minutes in length, and 14.7MB,
so you may want to use DSL or cable modem (you can use your work's fat
T1 line, provided your evil boss isn't lurking around). It's an MP4
file, so MediaPlayer should open it, although some of you have reported
difficulty opening some of my other films in the past. A safer bet is
to use Quicktime. I don't know how well it will work RealPlayer, but
you're free to try it. Sorry, no DVD available at this time, or the
foreseeable future.

When you're done watching it, check out the "Making Of" link to find out
a little bit how this film was put together (it's light on the details,
so feel free to ask me any POV-related questions). You should also
visit some of my other films to see how my movie making skills have, um,
evolved, if that's the right word for it :)

Your comments are welcome. Enjoy!

This is wonderful! Really well put together. :D

I must admit though that using robots as the main actors is somewhat of a
restriction. You loose all face expression and is bound to express
everything through body language alone. This is a good exercise, and you did
excellent, but it's still a restriction. I can't help but feel that if you
made a movie this long but with organic actors (like in your short
animations), the result could be even more appealing. But then, I'm sure
you're going to do that at some point, right? :)

I'll look at the "Making of..." a bit later...

Eventually. Right now, I'm going thru all my notes, looking at things in
the process that went well, things that didn't go so well, things that were
a colossal waste of time, etc., plus I have to completely redesign my
website. I have some different story ideas I want to try, some involving
more robots & aliens, others with ghosts, bugs, fish. Still trying to find
a voice. I'll try to make the ride as interesting as possible :)

Very Nice indeed! Have you considered selling these shorts to the Cartoon
Channels?

Thanks! I think I'm maybe a year away from trying something like that -
there are a LOT of animators pitching their works to people like Cartoon
Network & Nickelodean, and I want to make sure my stuff is good enough
to compete. I still have a ways to go, though...

I think your wrong about being a year away. Technically I think its good
enough. Perhaps the sound tracks could be perked up a little but thats all.
The Bees anims would be excellent inserts into any comedy sketch show, could
become the running gag -sort-of-thing-. In fact if you were to throw
scripts together for 10 or 11 Bee sketches and pitch to the right people at
the BBC you might even get a commission. Try now! You can always try again
at a later date.

Go for it !!!!!

Thats groovy ...

Plays well on my media player classic (an open-source-player looking
like media player 6.4) ...

My longest povray-animation was about 40 seconds with only
camera-movement ... :)

congratiolations ...
