yak!

........

omg that is impressive! - dosnt seem to do much on the other spheres tho,
can you add other objects - such as cubes, cones and csg?, it would make and
excellent anim to watch the cloth being dropped from one object to another

Thanks!

Cubes are easy, but the rest may take some time. I figure with cubes,
spheres, and triangles I could approximate things pretty good. If I could
rig up something like isosurfaces I'd be very happy. Oh, and then there's
transformations to be done...
It might be easier just to patch it into POV at this point.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but the cloth is so slippery, having no
friction and all, and I couldn't line up those spheres right. Maybe I'll
just add in a big cube and see what happens.

An incredible thing to see done using POV-Ray. I noticed there are actually
some very small perturbations at wrinkle points, showing mostly from the
glancing light probably. It's not easy saying anything bad about such a
great thing. First time I've seen a multiple (or double, as the case may
be) object cloth drop animation.

Wow, this is cool!

I guess that big sphere did in fact not rotate, only move, but since you
haven't added friction yet, it just fell down.

You could drop a cloth on a table. If it supports complex objects, you could
drop a duvet over a person lying in a bed. But does it have any practical
uses besides dropping cloths on things? Would clothes be a possible future
feature?

Greetings,

Rune

I too am very impressed and wondering how it falls off.

It might be interesting if the cloth fell onto a "floor", a simple plane
should work.

Amazing.

Martin Magnusson posted a cloth simulation in this group
about a year ago. (With credits to Hugo Elias.)

I was able to run his script without too much problem.

Keep up the great work.
